Tornado 5.6m — Increased Capacity with Compact Offshore Performance

The Tornado 5.6m expands on the compact offshore capability of the 5.2m, offering additional deck space, increased carrying capacity and greater engine flexibility while maintaining the same efficient hull philosophy and manageable footprint.

Designed for owners and operators who require a versatile mid-compact RIB, the 5.6m combines offshore-capable handling with practical transport, storage and operational flexibility.

Its balanced proportions make it suitable for demanding recreational use, diving operations, yacht support, coastal patrol, passenger transfer and professional day-to-day marine activity where reliability and ease of operation are equally important.

Deep-V Hull Designed for Real Sea Conditions

The Tornado 5.6m uses a refined deep-V hull engineered to deliver stable and predictable behaviour in rough or changing water conditions.

The hull geometry provides:

  • Soft landings in steep chop
  • Improved directional stability at speed
  • Smooth and predictable cornering behaviour
  • Reduced hull impact in offshore conditions
  • Efficient transition onto plane

Pronounced spray rails generate additional lift while helping keep water away from the deck and passengers, improving comfort during longer offshore passages.

The result is a compact RIB capable of maintaining comfort and control in conditions that would challenge many boats of similar size.

Increased Power and Operational Flexibility

The 5.6m is optimised for 60hp to 80hp outboard engines using a 508 mm shaft configuration.

The increased hull length allows greater carrying capacity and improved weight distribution while maintaining efficient fuel consumption and responsive handling characteristics.

This combination makes the boat well suited to operators who regularly carry additional passengers, diving equipment, safety gear or commercial payloads without sacrificing cruising efficiency.

Lightweight Composite Construction

The Tornado 5.6m uses the same professional-grade composite construction principles applied throughout the Tornado range.

The structure incorporates:

  • Lightweight polymer-core composite technology
  • Reinforced laminate skins for long-term rigidity
  • Structural reinforcement designed for repeated marine use
  • Reduced overall weight without compromising strength

This construction approach improves impact resistance while minimising the long-term laminate fatigue and micro-cracking often associated with conventional heavier structures.

Polyurethane Tubes for Long-Term Durability

The inflatable tubes are manufactured in polyurethane (PU), selected for its significantly higher abrasion resistance and UV stability compared to traditional PVC-based materials.

Polyurethane tubes offer:

  • Excellent resistance to harsh sun exposure
  • Improved durability during repeated docking and boarding
  • High resistance to abrasion and impact
  • Long service life in commercial or heavy-use environments

This makes the 5.6m particularly well suited to regular marine operation where durability and reduced maintenance requirements are important.

Dry Handling and Offshore Confidence

The Tornado 5.6m maintains high bow sheer and carefully balanced hull proportions to improve dryness and confidence offshore.

The hull cuts cleanly through oncoming seas while maintaining buoyancy and predictable handling characteristics, helping reduce spray and improve passenger comfort during rough-water operation.

Large-diameter tubes further enhance low-speed stability, boarding safety and overall buoyancy reserve.

Adaptable for Multiple Marine Roles

The additional internal space of the 5.6m allows flexible layouts for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Diving support
  • Yacht tender operations
  • Coastal transport
  • Harbour and marina support
  • Recreational offshore boating
  • Safety and patrol applications

Its balance between compact dimensions and increased operational capability makes it one of the most adaptable models in the smaller Tornado range.

Tornado 5.6m — Compact Practicality with Offshore Capability

The Tornado 5.6m combines efficient offshore handling, durable professional-grade construction and increased operational flexibility in a platform that remains easy to transport, launch and store.

Built for real marine conditions rather than sheltered-water use alone, it delivers dependable Tornado performance in a versatile and highly practical size category.
